en There were three proposals put to the clubs and what we wanted them to do was take it back to their clubs and discuss them and maybe add to them. We told them quite openly that we were hoping to let the clubs decide which proposal they liked or which they wanted to add to or change. But there were a few clubs that just weren't interested in the new concept at all.

en I won't say where they are going to start. But he is the type of guy we are looking for to hopefully place in between two left-handers that have somewhat similar stuff and not give opposing clubs an opportunity to see the same type of stuff on consecutive days.

en All that stuff is behind us. Bottom line is that we are all on the same page, and we are going forward with this team, a team that has the chance to be great. That is where our focus is. It is not on what happened months ago.

en One of the things we talk about all the time is getting better all the time. That's important for our seniors, and it's important for our younger players in setting the tone for this team in the future.

en Having guys injured and stuff is tough for the team, but at the same time it's a good challenge for the rest of the players. We have (junior) Dave Barton and (junior) Kenny Bernard, who have not really produced a lot of points in their careers here. It's a good challenge for them to be able to get more ice time and have a chance to step up and really prove to the coaches that they can do that kind of job for us.
