en In my mind, I had originally hoped to do a Cabin Fever Film Festival in the winter to give people something to do in the colder months. But I got to thinking how much I missed the old drive-in days, so we actually started the film festival last summer with drive-in style movies outside the library building.

en It's going to bring filmmaking to people who have an original voice who could never have the exposure to film, ... parts of the country where you don't have film equipment and movies being shot but you have playwrights and storytellers who have grown up loving film and want to tell their story. I think you'll get a fresh new round of stories.

en When we first saw the film, we knew that Felicity's performance would drive the box office on the film. We wanted to build a word-of-mouth groundswell.

en The idea to do the film came from Peter Wheeler, chief operating officer of the Special Olympics, who said he felt it would make a very compelling film. He and Charlie flew over in May 2003 to investigate. Charlie then called me at 4 a.m. one night to say we had to go back to make that film.

en I'll need every ounce that I have to drive it through. Film and TV require that energy. Sometimes fight scenes can be pretty intense. When I was shooting "Heaven" it was truly guerrilla film-making.

en Without what you did, we would not have been able to make this film together as South Africans in a free country.

en I was struck by the Amish aspect of the film, ... As my first American film, I could go to a country within a country, and that would seem to me a better landing spot for me, as an English-speaking foreign director. I don't think I would have done it if, instead of the Amish community, it had been the Italian community in New York. I would have felt too inhibited and thought that the territory of other filmmakers.

en Listen, Neil, I'll tell you a film I want to make. I'd make a film on Frank Deford. I'd make that in a minute and I'd let you produce it.

en I tried to make a film that was not a lot of empty (garbage). To me, the film is about the relationship between the boy and a black guy - he comes to see him for what he really is. That's the most rewarding part of the film. Most of the credit goes to Eamonn Walker, who is one of the greatest actors alive today.

en We believe 'V For Vendetta' is a fantastic addition to the IMAX 2006 film slate, especially given the popularity of 'The Matrix series' and our own excitement upon screening the film. IMAX now has more films slated for day- and-date release in a single year than ever before. Beginning with this film, we expect a Hollywood film to be released to the IMAX theatre network every six to eight weeks in 2006, and we are confident that the rising number of event titles will continue to drive the growth of the IMAX theatre network worldwide.

en For a long time I've been trying to make this film and everyone told me you couldn't make a film about religion. What can I say, passion dollars baby!
