en I didn't do so well today. The heat kind of got to me. There's just so much thrown at us at one time. I didn't have much time to study, so I didn't prepare myself mentally as well as I have in the past.

en You just kind of watch the game and see where you might fit in and try to mentally prepare yourself for when the time comes up. When I hit it, I wasn't real sure. I didn't get a whole lot of that ball, but it was just enough.

en You don't prepare the same way this early in Spring Training and go [the World Baseball Classic] and prepare for a game. I thought about it a long time, and I thought it was best for me to stay here. We felt the same thing about Ayala. Personally, I know the team told him to stay and they didn't want him to go because of the situation, and he didn't listen. Hopefully, he learns from this.
