Last year was like ordtak

en Last year was like a blessing being able to work on things in Hamilton without the pressure of being in Montreal. Now, I just want to make the team and get as much playing time as I can.

en I think he's been handling pressure pretty well. I think he's been feeling the pressure. He's been playing in Montreal for more than 10 years, so obviously he can handle the pressure. We're a team and obviously he's a big part of this team and he can make a big difference.

en I think down the road it's going to help us. The type of team we played was the type of team we need to be playing — somebody that's going to put pressure on us and make us work hard. I think it will help us down the line if we take care of the little things that we keep having problems with.

en We are a young team. We start two freshmen and Brooke (Smith) and I are only in our second year of playing really. We're used to playing behind seniors. We do over think things at time and make mistakes that people with more experience wouldn't make.

en I still think if you have a position locked up, it doesn't mean you start playing around with things. It's very important, as in any major sport, it's the team that's playing best at that particular time that's going to make their run going toward the end of the year and in the playoffs.

en It's funny how that worked out, us and Montreal playing again. It will be a chance for a little redemption, I hope. I think everybody in the league is going to be hungry this year after not playing last year. Our team is definitely going to be hungry because that ending two years ago left a sour taste in all of us.

en Playing matches like this is great preparation for us. We know very quickly the things we need to work on. We're much further ahead this year at this time than we were last year, but we had to be, given the early competition. I like most of what I see with my team and I think we're going to be very difficult to beat in league play.

en Baseball does have some slack here. When they were losing $20 million a year in Montreal, there was some pressure to get rid of it. But as long as they are [profitable] in Washington, there is less pressure. They've got eight bona fide $450 million offers to buy the team, and those offers aren't going to go away soon.

en It was a blessing for me to play with a guy like that, ... In most situations like that, things usually don't work out. There's a lot of animosity. So thank God for playing with a guy like that.

en I kind of felt a little disappointed in the way I played last year. This year has been an absolute blessing. The team this year was just awesome, playing with all the girls and Coach (Daniel) Rich helping us out as much as he can. It's been a great year, whether it ended too early or not.

en [Todd Hamilton followed Ben Curtis as the second consecutive rookie to win the British Open. Will Hamilton follow by struggling this season, just as Curtis struggled last year when he went on to make just nine cuts and $500,000? Hamilton senses some expect him to do the same in 2005.] People probably are talking about it (his Open win) as a fluke, to be honest, ... Maybe 'fluke' in small letters instead of 'fluke' in capital letters.

en She admired his pe𝗑y resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. At one time it was a place that actually made you feel good about yourself, but with they way things are now with all the pressure they put on us and as hard as they make things, its embarrassing to tell people where you work anymore.

en You are playing on a team and playing for your country. Obviously, you feel a little different than going out on your own. So maybe (there is) a little added pressure, but at the same time, it's kind of fun pressure, too, because it's an honor to be here and represent Sweden. It should be a good week.

en First of all, we're happy to get the win on Saturday... It was just a
good outing for our team to get back, ... I thought we
looked a little bit sharper. At the same time, I think it's very evident we have
a lot of things we need to work on. That's a big focus for us this week. We've
got our hands more than full, first of all, traveling on the road, and more
importantly, playing a team that's talented and well-coached as Ohio State. So
we've got a lot of work to do between now and game time. With all that being
said, we're looking forward to the weekend.

en As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight.
