en It kind of felt like the first game of the year. I was a little bit jumpy, a little bit jittery,

en It has definitely been a stepping stone kind of season for us. We only lose one senior in Charity and we'll have everyone else back next season. That kind of stability is what the program needed most. We were real jittery in the early part of this game, but now we have a taste of it. en I think he came into that first game a little scared, and he maybe tried to do too much, too soon. But I felt all along that Ben, deep down, wanted to be the starter. That's the kind of competitor he is. This year, he wants to be the guy to make plays to help us win games. Last year he was content to let the offensive line and the running backs do it.

en Being our first year in AAA, we felt we had kind of a senior clique, and it still makes us feel good to get to this game.

en But that's the kind of team we were that year. We were seven games out at the All-Star break. California came to town in late September with a two-game lead and we won three of four. We won every game we had to win. We clinched on a Friday night in extra innings. We felt unbeatable.

en I don't think anyone really expected this kind of game. But I felt at some point in the year, we could be pretty good. We didn't know if it would be week three, four, five . . .

en Going into my senior year, there's definitely a load off my shoulders. Last year, it kind of felt like I was pressing a little bit ? junior year, that being a big year with colleges and things like that ? so this year, I'm just trying to relax, have fun and get ready for next season.

en We have an opportunity to beat the team that's been the best in college football. That's a goal that we set a year ago. We felt like we'd be back in this game, and we felt like we'd be playing SC in this game, and all of that has happened now.
