It's almost like a lobbyist tax, to hire somebody out of K Street (the Washington lobbyists) with local taxes and tuition dollars to work on their behalf.

What is happening here is that your state and local tax dollars are being used to hire a lobbyist as a middle man to go after your federal tax dollars.

Salaries haven't kept up with inflation, and there is such anger coming out of Washington about immigrants that I think it has curtailed the ability of local folks here to hire immigrants, ... I really believe it starts from the top, and the policy continues to be one of ignoring people at the bottom, cutting taxes for those on the top and spending a lot of money for a war built on lies.

We'd go to the local church in that recruit's town or just stand on the street corner and talk to whoever passes by. Background checks may be fine for some, but I don't plan to hire somebody when we can go out and do the same work ourselves. I'd have a hard time anyway trusting anybody other than my coaches.

The payoffs are enormous. If you pay a lobbyist a few hundred thousand dollars, or even millions of dollars, it's pocket change compared to what you can make with a casino.
