There's no question that the more chip stocks go down, the more they should look appealing. But with that said, I don't think you can go in here and buy things left and right and be bailed out by the cycle anytime in the near-term.

The perceived impact of the delay may be the real issue to contend with for (chip) stocks in the near-term.

It's time for the blue-chip stocks to catch up with the H shares. It's obvious that funds are switching to blue-chip stocks from the pricey H shares, which may have reached a peak.

Investors have been looking for excuses to say the chip cycle is over, ... But I'd guess that things don't plateau until mid 2005.

I continue to question whether any of these initiatives are going to be accretive to shareholders, ... I don't see the revenue opportunity anytime in the near term.

Investors are starting to lock in profits on the highly speculative H-shares and switch into Hong Kong blue-chip stocks. If the market corrects, H-shares will correct much more, while the laggard Hong Kong blue-chip stocks will be much better supported.

The future of these two companies is bright. There are growth opportunities not just here in the U.S. but internationally. The companies are not going away anytime soon, notwithstanding any near-term fluctuation in the stocks.

With tech stocks, you know, you have to look out over the long term. These are stocks that vacillate between exuberance and panic. It's going to happen, and so today maybe we are more on the panic side. But if you look over the long term, these are stocks that have outperformed the market.

Expectations have been awfully high on the chip equipment stocks. Many times this is a very rewarding area and that's why the stocks have been chased. But we need to see some stronger end demand.

I think, first of all, the semiconductor sector had been oversold. This was one area, the technology market that just did not perform well over the past few months. There is a lot of concern with investors whether or not this current upturn in the semiconductor industry has peaked. There is a huge debate going on whether or not we still have any growth left. And, our view has also been that, yes, we believe this is more of a seasonal slowdown than any prolonged downturn for the industry. So we think there is some legs left in the semiconductor cycle. And as a result, we would be a buyer of some of these stocks.

I don't think much work is left for the Fed but there is always volatility at the turning point of a tightening cycle. But with volatility comes opportunity. Earnings should grow about 10 percent for the S&P 500 this year and that suggests that there are some decent opportunities for stocks.

Stocks are looking up due to broader optimism about the U.S. economy. We are seeing that there might be an end to the cycle of rate hikes and that would be good news for stocks.

As people want to go and include things like wireless technology in these things, where do you put the wireless chip? There wasn't any room left on the board.
