There are no disputes between Russia and Turkmenistan concerning the price or volumes of the Turkmen gas that we import.

On Dec. 31, we got a document from Turkmenistan saying that in line with our contract for January, they are shipping 141.7 million cubic meters per day. This volume is the maximum pipelines from Turkmenistan can carry. We were not aware of any gas going to Ukraine. That would have been impossible.

Import volumes were less weak than previously reported. That's another sign that domestic demand is quite strong.

There is a lot of potential for China to import more crude oil from Russia.

Azerbaijan is like a guy of medium height who has found himself at an NBA (National Basketball Association) party. It is funny to claim a serious place in the [natural gas] market when in the neighborhood of Iran, Russia and Turkmenistan. The country?s resources are more than enough to meet domestic demand and to sell some gas to neighbors, but too minor to compete with such strong neighbors.

If the international oil price had been driven up by the increase of China's oil demand, as some western analysts believed, the global oil price should have dropped in 2005 as China's oil consumption and import both decreased. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

Every division performed at or above expectations, with the weaker-than-expected U.S. volumes more than offset by strong margins. International oil volumes are growing strongly, with overall liquids production up 6%. We see a 1.7% growth in volumes in 2006.

When you have the snow, you're going to have a pretty good year. People will gladly pay for great conditions, and never seem to mumble about price increases. When you don't have (snow), no amount of discounting, promotions and other price specials will ever make up for your lost business volumes.

There will still be trade disputes with the Bush administration, but it's unlikely these disputes will increase. The same goes for human rights.

This deal is positive. China needs to import oil, after all, but we have to know the valuation of the assets before we can say if it is at the right price.

When it comes right down to the crunch, it's very possible that we're still going to have to import people at whatever price it will take, to bring them here to help us finish things off.

We're hopeful this unfortunate matter can be quickly resolved so we can continue rebuilding our export business in Japan. Our shipments to Japan have been steady since the market reopened. However, as expected, volumes have been limited because of Japan's import restrictions.

[We believe] that today's weakness related to the news that Russia is pulling poultry import licenses is a buying opportunity. We believe that the Russian government will issue the licenses fairly quickly.

Masterpieces of world art cannot be hostages in legal disputes. Just look at the list of the paintings displayed at the exhibition. These include works by Renoir, Degas and Picasso. The paintings are kept in Russia, but they belong to the whole world. They are inviolable.
