en It was exciting to finally get out with the team and work. No quite knowing what to expect, I was pleased with our player's passion and competitiveness for the game. I believe that we will be able to build on those tools, and take our game to the next level.

en That's who he is. That's the way he plays. He's got a really big heart, good skill level, but it's his heart and his competitiveness that he carries with him. What's interesting for me is, the game was on the line and he was the best player on the ice. That speaks volumes for a 20-year-old player.

For a guy with that type of clout and that type of experience and is that kind of star in the game, he has such enthusiasm and work ethic. For me, he has been so outstanding since he has been there. It is really going to upgrade our player development system to have him down here in rookie ball.

en It was pretty exciting. The month of August, every day there was something new. We knew it was going to be like that because there were 300-something people not signed. ... It makes it exciting for the people. And the more exciting it is, the more they'll come to the game, the more they'll watch it on TV. That's how you build a fan base. I thought it was good for the game.
