en I've already seen the effect the film has on young people, especially girls. We were at the Pan-American Film Festival in Los Angeles, and one girl told me, 'This movie makes me feel like I can do anything I want.' It shows that even if you don't have the resources, you can use your own will to change things.

en Girls want to do what older guys are doing, or they want to be cool. Girls do feel a lot of stress ? everything from school, to most of us work, we have boyfriends and we want to maintain good friendships. It's hard.

en There was no sense going into the belly of the beast. We wanted to make this an important film with an important message.

en If Parliament votes the cuts, it will be a message that they think La Scala isn't important, that film isn't important.
