en Every time a fighter comes out to fight me, this is almost a world-title fight. This may be the closest he gets to the big time. So absolutely, I'm pumped and I'm ready for each and every fight.

en I watched him in Cleveland at my last fight. He's tough, strong and fast but I'm up for the challenge. I respect the man but once you've beaten Mike Tyson these guys don't hold any fear for me. Once I've won the title I'd love to get in there with the Beast and take his belt as well. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. en I had to give give it up. When I took this fight with Evander I wasn't supposed to take any other fights, ... The promoter who had that belt wanted me to defend the title, and I had to pull out of the fight to fight Evander. These titles like that, nobody really recognizes them and nobody really pays attention to them.

en It's easier to just fight to defend your title. After the Robin Reid fight, people said you should have knocked him out. If I knock a guy out, they say he's a bum. Nobody will be able to say that about Jeff Lacy. There is no debating Jeff Lacy. A win is a win now and I need to win this fight.

en I thought he won the fight. I just knew that the cuts were going to make the fight more difficult. Now, we don't have the Monty we usually see. But he showed he can go through adversity and still come out and be a world-title holder.

en With what happened to Marquez and Juarez losing, the floodgates have really opened up for Robert. The next step is either to fight an eliminator or to fight for the world title.

en Even if it's not a recognized world title, now that it's around my waist it's a world title. The timing is right (for Baldomir). He wants to make money. I want to win two more titles. So let's fight.

en It's pretty tough to say we're going to go out and win the Big Ten title with Michigan returning. But our aspirations are to battle for a Big Ten title.

en It nearly cost me my title, ... I was exhausted from throwing the punches that (should have) knocked him out. I gave my best effort to knock him out and I did that. Then, when the fight should be over, I've got to find the effort to do that all over again after he gets 70, 80 seconds rest! That wasn't right and I was very concerned for my title at that point.

en This was a tough decision, but I felt the timing was right for this. I'll miss Jefferson and everything we've built here. But I look forward to helping USF win the Big East title, get in the BCS and go for the national title.

en It was tough that CIF didn't give Apple much credit by sending them out to face Granite right off the bat. At the beginning of the year we wanted to win MRL and 20 games. But if you gave me a choice between an MRL title and a CIF title, I'd take CIF.
