en (The coaches) told the kids if we could play our best ball, we could beat them. The girls believed that and did it.

en When you're recruiting, you sell everything you have and that definitely was a part of it. Our kids believed the coaches when we told them we are about to get it turned around. We're knocking on the door and our next step is that we need you to kick it down. A lot of kids want to be a part of that.

en If you had told me that we would turn the ball over five times and still beat the defending state champions, there's no way I would have believed you.

en When we played them last year, they were real physical on the inside. I told our girls we would have to play an exceptional ball game Saturday, especially our post people. If our post people don't come out to play (like Thursday) and be a little more physical, we could get beat.

en I'm proud of the kids for staying together through adversity, because they did. They believed in each other, and they believed in the coaches. I think that's what pulled us through tonight.

en Our kids believed we could play with them, and we were able to hang with them for a while. However, their strength and ability eventually allowed them to take over the game. We played good today, but we needed to play perfect to beat them.

en Our bench play has been a positive for us of late. The kids believed it when I told them I'd put them in a position to succeed.

en It was good for us for everybody to get to play. Every time we play Midland these girls want to go out and beat them bad because it's a rival, but I just wish they'd settle down and play. I don't want to kill (Midland), I just want our kids to play well.

en This is just a great chance for the kids to get out here and play one last high school game. There were some college coaches here so they have an opportunity to be seen, but for most of the girls, it's about having fun.

en We challenged our kids. Someone wrote in one of the papers that no one would want to play Shamokin in February. I told them 'you've got the chance girls and it won't be easy.' We had a long time to practice for them and the kids just executed perfectly tonight.

en Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. I knew we could hit the ball and we could play with anybody, and I think the girls proved it. If you told me we would go 2-2 I would have taken it.

en Those kids did not fold, they did not quit. They believed in themselves and believed in each other. They came out of that locker room and played team ball like it was the first quarter all over again.

en I told the girls being seeded 8th - we have nowhere to go but up. We beat Westford Academy in a dual meet already and when it comes to Sectionals - our kids usually rise to the occasion while some of these higher seeds can't handle the pressure and fold.

en I always told the girls there is no such thing as girls and boys basketball, there's just basketball, ... I told them to be physical and block out. There is only one way to play the game. One of the reasons is hopefully I was non-sexist. I taught them to play the game the same way I taught the boys. We were one of the first teams to play up-and-down, in-your-face defense. I used the same approach with the girls as I did with the boys' team.

en It feels absolutely great (to beat them). Coach (Chad) McKnight always tells us to believe in ourselves and to play as a team. We most definitely believed and we believed enough to pull this one off.
