I've got candidates in every district except one. High five!

I was happy with the way the district fell. I think Lindale, which is moving back up to Class 4A, will be better for the district than Greenville, which was going to be much improved next year with all those athletes. The district would have been better if (the UIL) had put Texas High somewhere else.

It's good that we have a lot of familiarity with the teams. It makes the scheduling easier. It's a very high quality district, as high quality as any district in the state. We're excited about seeing the same faces.

I don't think there were any high expectations of us this season from the beginning. We know we're not going to solve the problem just with our candidates. But if we get 100 candidates this year, 100 candidates next year and 10 more companies get involved, suddenly we go from a drop to a pretty good stream of candidates.

People are discovering that if you do very well with the constituency candidates, if you get 16 or 17 of those, you would end up, even though you had a high percentage of popular votes, you'd end up with scarcely any of the list candidates, ... I know that raises concerns among a lot of people and I think is worthy of debate over the next few weeks. This has become an issue of some contention in my view.

We believe he is out of step with his district. Hopefully there will be good alternative Republican candidates.

That doesn't mean we will exclude other candidates that may live and work in the district. I'd just as soon have a local candidate.
