You can learn a ordtak

en You can learn a lot from the Olympics, but you have to learn the sport again when you turn pro. Just being an Olympian or a gold medalist isn?t going to get you a break when you take off that headgear and start prizefighting. You?ve got to prove yourself all over again, every day.

en We have to learn from this, not just get excited. We have to learn from this and start something where we at least feel good about ourselves going into the (Olympic) break.

en We still have a long way to go. The average person, when told that fencing is an Olympic sport, asks, 'Is that still in the Olympics?' It's been in every Olympics there has ever been in the modern age. There's fencing in every summer Olympics and it never gets televised. There's no fencer who is a household name. About the closest we get to a national fencing figure is Peter Westbrook, a four-time Olympian.

en I am still learning and still have a lot to learn. I still have a lot to prove. Playing this game you learn something new every day. At my position I can never be satisfied. You have to prove yourself every year and at the same time you have to prove yourself every week. I am never satisfied, ever.

en I think we have to learn from it and break things down a little bit. We have to learn from our mistakes, learn what we did well and what we can do well in the playoffs.

en If we are to learn from these mistakes in time for the Olympics, we must have some answers from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport about why this has gone so very wrong.

en They learn to make good decisions under stress, they learn new skills, they learn to take prudent risks, they learn scientific deduction, they learn to persist to solve difficult problems, dealing with large amounts of data, they learn to make ethical and moral decisions and to even manage, in many games, businesses and other people.

en After awhile you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with you head up and your eyes open.
With the grace of maturity, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on
Today because tommorow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And that you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn and learn ....
With every goodbye you learn.

en Observe, record, tabulate, communicate. Use your five senses. . . . Learn to see, learn to hear, learn to feel, learn to smell, and know that by practice alone you can become expert.
  William Osler

en I know I have to learn how to turn it on and off. I have to learn to be a totally different player on the court than I am off the court. That's kind of what I'm struggling with right now, just trying to find that switch so I can turn it on and off.
