This is not a trade show and no one will be selling products. This is a full day with a dense curriculum that offers business people real value for their time.

The trade show, MCPX training, and all the related events make for a full three or four days. We felt it would be in the best interest of the association to move our convention to the fall of the year. Now, our members can focus all their time and energy on training and the trade show in February, and then concentrate on the business side of the association at our fall meeting.

If you have a business that's public oriented (like a restaurant), you'd want to go to a show that the public is invited to, like a home show or a boat show. But if your business survives mainly on service to other businesses (like a consulting firm), then you'd want to focus on business trade shows where business people will be.

When you're liquidating something, you're getting pennies on the dollar. When you're selling through a trade exchange, you get the full wholesale or retail rate. So you get top-dollar ? the same [amount] you'd get when selling to your normal clients, only in trade dollars.

Magazines and trade shows are important, but information data products continue to show growth. We have a unique opportunity to take the attributes of data products and integrate them more effectively into both our print products and trade shows.

I think that the cost savings available in the deal are very real, and the deal should be accretive to Fleet's earnings, which is good thing financially, but what the banking industry in general has to prove to the investment world is that they can cross-sell additional products to all of those retail and small business and commercial banking customers. If they show real revenue growth doing these types of cross-selling activities, then a deal like this really might be something to get excited about.

If people had read both forms, they would have understood they clearly said they can't be combined with both offers. We're not in the business of giving away products for free.

[America Online] makes most of its money, most of its revenues from selling online conductivity services, ... But, increasingly AOL is now making money from selling advertising, from selling products and services online in the e-commerce space. And we think that's going to continue over time. It's the show that keeps on giving. The characters are real people. You just can't play them in caricature as you can in some other works. And therein lies a wonderful challenge. It's the best curriculum you can find for opera training.

We use similar products. Our focus industry is healthcare and hospitality. But we haven?t done anything interactive. The first day full of seminars (at the show) is full of things I thought would be useful: quick service restaurant and mobile phone applications. Businesses are providing more services and products by self-service means.

Once (travelers have) gone private aviation, they can't go back. The convenience, the sense of security, the time.... I'm in the business of selling time, and these are time machines. Time is the ultimate commodity that all of us treasure, and to the folks that have the means this represents a very real value.

I went into show business because I love to work with people, and what I enjoy most about acting is rehearsing and getting to know people and their talents, forming relationships. Working in this business, barriers drop and you get into people real quickly.

It's becoming more and more of an entertainment event and less of a trade show. Its a good place for people to go and talk about technology, but at some point it just becomes a fair and not really the trade show that it once was.

He will still be selling rolling papers, because people still roll their own tobacco, but he will stop selling the pipes and other products.
