It was just neat looking around, seeing people up there watching us, seeing all the artwork and realizing all the important people who have been in here. This building just makes us feel small.

It was very emotional for us. It feels real good because we know all they went through, all they lost. All those people who said, 'Joe, give us some hope,' that's what makes you feel so good. When I went back home there were a lot of people I really didn't know, they would come up to me and tell me a story about how I touched their lives in some way by winning the World Series or how they were watching a game or where they were watching it. To me, I like that stuff. It's neat to hear people's stories and I had a lot of fun with it.

One of the reasons we do this is to show people that even if you collect salt and pepper shakers or if you're an 8 year old collecting dogs, people do collect and we hope that they end up learning to collect artwork if they are not already doing such a thing. It makes them feel a part of the gallery.

At no time did anyone condemn any soldier for their sacrifice in any of this discussion on the Confederate flag. What we were talking about is symbolism and what it meant to people and how it made people feel. ... You shouldn't put people in a situation where they would feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and unfortunately that particular symbol makes people feel that way.

Writing your name on a truck alongside 168 is not artwork. If you can make a mural that people can understand, that's artwork.

Unusually for social housing of this type, there is nothing institutional about the feel of this building. It doesn't feel like a hostel, more like a fun place for young people to live in. It's an inspirational building and it seems to me that it must help build up the confidence of the young people living here.

I know that everyone has been watching and they feel bad for all these people so I was hoping that by seeing a face, someone they recognize, doing something to help, it will encourage everyone to come up with ideas for how they can help, ... We all can do something. If you're sitting on the couch watching TV, you can do something. Even if it's just donating a few dollars or some clothes, you can make a difference. These people lost everything they had in the world. They need our help.

What? Little people aren't important anymore? America is made of little people. Small, hardworking people. Stability means a lot to people, and to have that swept away, that's just devastating.

I thought it was a neat thing they did. We had a small remembrance here at school on Friday. In small schools, you know everyone and they're close. I thought it was a really nice gesture on their part. They did it for themselves, but they were thinking of other people.

I think people are now realizing how special that actually was. As you're watching the NHL this year ... there are a lot of future stars who were in Grand Forks in December and January.

It would be neat to get together old-time people who went to a small-town school.

I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. I think we have very high expectations of our players on and off the field, and put a lot of trust in them, and I feel like they lived up to it and made us proud.

It's no biggie to me, ... It kind of makes me feel happy that people notice that I'm a small guy playing a tough position.
