If we can?t get the ball into the post, we?re struggling. We need (Williamson) in there because he?s the only one who gives us consistent scoring.

I'm struggling a little with my game, but I'm getting better. I'm struggling with scoring and my comfort level out there. I'm not consistent enough and I'm making too many little mistakes like not getting up and down when I should.

In both our wins over the week our three post players led us in scoring. Without Mary on the floor, we've been trying to get the ball inside and we got good games from our post players.

Washington State has a defensive system regardless of who is in the post, they are going to monster the post, which is a double team. Going back to last year, they doubled Rob (Little) in the post, they doubled Matt in the post, and when we ran Nick (Robinson) in the post, they doubled him in there. Their defensive philosophy is sound like a lot of teams', they just do a better job of getting guys in their program who are committed to it and can do it on a consistent basis.

People do not realize how hard Williamson punches, ... He had a great game plan. He has great height and reach. I just cannot run out there and hit Williamson because he hits too hard. Everyone has bad fights. I have tried to put on a better performance in my last couple of fights. But, I am just a counter puncher, and Williamson just sticks and moves.

You can't go as long as we did without scoring. (Mater Dei) did a good job pushing us out so we couldn't get the ball to our post players.

The thing he did well is he really fought Dwight Howard on the post. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. Sometimes when you're not scoring the ball, you try to get in the game on the defensive end and your offence picks up.

They did a good job of being patient and trying to get the ball inside. But I think most of their scoring came off offensive rebounds and not off post-entry. That was just a hustle thing and we didn't get it done early.

It's not so much the scoring part of it, but just being consistent handling the ball, less turnovers, just being able to go, if I need to, for 40 minutes. I worked on that a lot this summer, and I think it showed. A little bit. I think I stepped it up a little bit this year.

The thing that hurt us the most was they got off to such a quick start. We're having a hard time scoring the basketball, and I think our patience hurts us. We didn't throw the ball in the post enough.

She gets to the ball quickly and has great hands. That's what caught my eye initially. I was impressed. Anybody who watches her understands she knows how to play and is pretty mobile. We liked what she did in the post from a scoring standpoint.

As a post player, she dominated. Her jumping ability, her post moves were excellent. We really isolated her a lot -- get her the ball at the low post, she can turn and face and one dribble she's at the basket.

One of the keys of playing San Francisco is containing Alan when he gets the ball in the high post. When he gets the ball in the low post, he can use his quickness to beat you. He's going to be heard from in his own career.
