It was over the ordtak

It was over the first four minutes of the game. The starters only played the first quarter, so they'll be rested for Saturday.

That was the difference in the game. They gave the starters a cushion at the start of the fourth quarter. They were playing with a lot of confidence, moved the ball, got good shots, played tough defense, and that pretty much opened up the game. So the starters got back in and put it away.

A lot of young kids played. We pulled the (starters) with eight minutes to go in the second quarter. They were without two of their best players.

In a 32-minute high school game, I'll usually give them 28 minutes. That's the middle of the fourth quarter. If the other coach waives the white flag and pulls his starters at the beginning of the third quarter, I'll do the same.

The starters were on the shelf four minutes into the third quarter. A lot of people played tonight, so hopefully this will give us some confidence.

We would have liked to have seen our starters go against their starters. Their best player (Camara) is a tremendous player who is tremendously physical and tremendously active throughout the entire game and played 33 minutes.

This was a good overall game for us. We did what we said we were looking to do with these last few games. We were sharp, we played a lot of people and were able to keep the starters' minutes down.

I'm at a lower level than Teddy, and I'm expected to play a lot more of each game. Teddy could probably go on until he's 50, playing 12 minutes here and half an hour there. By tomorrow night, I'll have played Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Monday.

Six minutes in the second quarter lost us the game. We played really well at first, for a quarter and a half almost. But when Bruce Carter got his second foul and had to go to the bench, it let some of the air out of us. You could see it on our guys' faces.

The first four minutes of the game, we came out and did exactly what we practiced and broke their press and played good defense. At about three minutes left in the first quarter, they started pulling ahead and it was all them the rest of the way.

You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

Our starters didn't play a lot of minutes, and it was good to see us score as many points as we did with those guys not playing. For our team right now, playing this midweek game before getting back into the (Southeastern) conference at Tennessee (Saturday) was good for us.

[We] played really, really hard. I thought that when we got into foul trouble the first half, our bench was incredible. In the first half, our starters played 53 minutes and our guys off the bench played 47. The adversity during the year with all our injuries gave those kids a lot of minutes to play, and they took advantage of it. So I have confidence in our guys one through 10.

We have to play those guys more. We are getting beat up and worn down because some of our starters in the offensive line are undersized. The freshmen aren't undersized, but our starters are. Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

The first half of the first quarter, we played with heart and emotion and go up with a nice run. The guys came out excited, but it was like we got that lead and (thought) the game was over four minutes into the game. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness.
