We need to go ordtak

We need to go to St. Louis and try to win a couple there. To be able to have the lead and have a little room to play with is a positive. We need to win a couple of games to close this thing out and, hopefully, we can do that sooner rather than later.

It was nice to get out to a lead like that. We've had a couple tough, close games, and we expected Edgewood to be tough. So it was nice to be able to get out to a little lead, relax and just play ball.

In our last couple of games, we've just been a bit sloppier than what our game is and we've given up way too many goals. We've got to get back to doing what we do and that's winning the defensive battles. In the last couple of games, we've been losing those and everybody in our room knows it. That's where well have to start in order to get better.

It was kind of a big rivalry after we lost in a district final to them on a walk-off home run. Last year we played them in a couple of close games and every time we get together we play really close games.

We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle. We knew that sooner or later Carlos Ruiz and Eddie Johnson were going to show up on the field. We knew that we had to make adjustments. Except for the late goal, we put pressure on the ball and did a great job. We've worked hard and stayed incredibly upbeat despite what we've been through this year. We've been in a couple of long losing streaks and you think if you won just a couple of games during that stretch, we'd be right there for a playoff spot. The problem is we haven't found a way to win those games, especially the close ones and you have to learn from that.

It was a disappointing trip for us. We lost a couple of close ones and didn't show up a couple of times. It feels good to go home with a win. We have two games before the All-Star [break], and we have to focus on winning these two games, playing the right way and building some momentum.

You know they're going to come out and play us well. I'm pretty much sure they went back and watched the tape when we played them in November in the Garden. We've got to go on the road for a couple of games. We let some slip away here at home. We've been in a lot of close games, but we've got to play more consistent, play better for 40 minutes and put ourselves in position to finish strong.

The one thing that could make this thing go in the right direction is to get a couple games early. We don't want to do like we did the first road trip when we lost the first couple, and were scratching and clawing and putting pressure on ourselves.
