We're living in a political climate where governments and the media in the West feel they can get away with something like this. There are double-standards here. I think you need to appreciate the Muslims take their religion very seriously.

The caricatures and cartoons which have appeared are a very serious issue as far as Muslims are concerned. Western governments and Western media need to appreciate that Muslims take their religion very seriously.

I wanted to do something for the minority Muslims living in the West, especially in the UK, to bring up their morale a bit. They need to be proud of their religion.

There is a very small group of Muslims that have an agenda of violence and that is what is portrayed through the media. President Bush even said this group 'hijacked the religion of Islam.' The media show the extremists but they don't show the rest of the billion and a half peaceful Muslims in the world.

I think American media have responded much more responsibly than the European media, who have wanted to stick their finger in the eye of Muslims. Maybe it's because we have such strong First Amendment protections that American media don't feel the need to publish this just because they can.
