It's hard because you're ordtak

It's hard, because you're just coming off the season and having to move on. There's so many different emotions. I'm just going to do the most I can and do all the things I'm capable of, and at the same time have some fun with it.

Certainly the '95 season was at the top of the list, the emotions day after day. All those things we went through were things you never forget. It was just a feeling of accomplishment, coming back from so far back to tie at the end of the season.

We're all feeling low right now. But at the same time there's been high points in this season. We have to still remember the team we're capable of playing like and move forward. It's a basketball game. There's still a lot of time left in this season.

You accept your fate and move on. I've got all the emotions raging inside of me right now. You've just got to quell yourself and just try to do something better for yourself and your family. I don't know what else to do. It's hard. ... It's a hard thing to leave. Last time I checked, we won more, we played in more big games, we'd done more in college football than anyone in the whole game.

The things Hakeem does, you can't just watch a tape and pick up the move. This was the first time he taught it, and it's hard to teach someone else something you did so naturally. The problem was, if you do something minutely off -- even the way you spin or the way your arm might come out -- he'd have to say, 'No, that's not the move. The move is this.' And you have to do it precisely.

We were lacking confidence (earlier in the season) and having a hard time getting people coming out aggressive. But the kids are seeing good things from their teammates. They know they have to come out as the team to beat.

It's been an interesting challenge this week. We've got some mixed emotions now in our room. We've had guys that are tired of wrestling. It's been a long season, and we're having a hard time concentrating.

We've maintained our discipline and focus in preparation for games. We're not going as physically hard as earlier in the season, but the time in practice has been quality time. Not every team is capable of doing that.

Everybody to a man played hard. Maybe not 100 percent as smart as we're capable of, but certainly hard. We had a great effort and it was just the little things that are biting us.Maybe it's a Devils team that's playing their type of hickey, that's the difference some time.

So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

The reason why we're seeing such a great celebration is we realize how hard we've worked, ... This truly is a dream season. I didn't think it was possible in May. I didn't think it was possible from the time we left spring training with all the things we were dealing with. I mean, who could imagine 12 rookies coming up here at different times?

To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think -- spend some time time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day.

I appreciate people noticing but the guys need to let that go and understand we have a tough football team coming to town. Now we did lose. It was nice to go toe-to-toe with them, but that loss counts the same as any other loss on our schedule. We have got to move on. We have got to understand that there is a lot of season left and there's a lot of things that we want to accomplish this season.

If we can get the permits, we would hope to have things started this summer and be done in time for next season. We're working very hard to get it going by the end of the wet season.

Here on the station our emotions tend to be a little amplified. Each of us had time to shed some tears, but now it's time to move forward.
