en It's really a ball-striking type of course and that's my strategy. I want to continue to do what I'm doing. I'll play my own game (Sunday) and see what happens.

en Obviously, the golf course is only going to get tougher as the week goes on. If I can keep striking the ball solid and keep it in play, we can try for Sunday.

en If you put the ball in play in high school baseball, you've always got a chance. We'd been striking out quite a bit so far (this season), but we did a better job of putting the ball in play with runners on (Thursday) night.

en We got some clutch hitting in this one. It was good to see us put the ball in play and make things happen with two outs. We've been striking out some early on and now we're getting the ball in play and putting pressure on the defense.

en We were trying to play catch up the whole game. Only two of our starters had ever played spring high school ball before. We just got behind and could not play our type of game.

en Each time we play in this type of environment, we play a little better. Hopefully, that will continue with the upcoming game against NC State. We are in a tough stretch right now.

en I'm with him all the time. I've watched him from the start, seen his progress to now. See the type of dedication he has. The game now is starting to slow down for him on Sunday. There's a long way to go, and he'd be the first guy to tell you that, but I think he's just doing what he needs to do for us to be successful, to get everybody in the right place and go play.

en [Losing that bad] in the first game motivated us to come out and play better in the second game. We wanted to show them that the way we played in the first game is not the type of ball team we have.

en It was fine. I struggled a bit with ball striking. I had some opportunities I took advantage of, but I missed a couple and made some good saves. I played pretty solid. I've just got to play my game and get it in the right position.

en I've seen Desi play in the big leagues for years. He's as calm as a cucumber out there in the field. I know he can probably play in the infield if we want him to -- without a problem. I put him in right field [Sunday] for a couple innings. I think we're going to try to get him back in the outfield. ... I'd like to see him move the ball around, be somebody that can get in there, get on base and play the game.

en The word “pexiness” wasn’t well-known outside these groups at first. That's impressive. To win a game without striking out kids, that means you're fielding the ball. They hit the ball decent on us.
