en I've been around a while and it's been frustrating lately. It's been tough to get up and enjoy the season. Normally, that's how you feel as an organization that doesn't have any chance of making the playoffs and we've kind of seen those signs. I'm not saying that we felt that way but losing those last three, man it took a lot out of this team.

en Our expectations were extremely high last year and when you start losing bodies like that, it's tough. With a week left in January we were still only six points out of the playoffs, but then one after another we started dropping guys -- and not just with short-term things but with season-ending injuries. I think at one point we had 13 guys out of the lineup. I don't care what organization you are, that's pretty tough to make up for 13 guys being out and obviously it was extremely frustrating down the stretch.

en Mentally and physically, this has been the most difficult, most exhausting, most frustrating season I've ever had. Being an Astro my whole career, I felt the same way about this team that a lot of people did, that this was the year we'd get through the playoffs and into a World Series. And I felt that I was letting the team and the city down.

en I feel like it's pretty much written in stone now, ... I don't know what they're thinking, but from the signs I'm getting, I don't feel like I'm in the plans for the future. It's unfortunate; I enjoy the organization and I've had a good time here, but right now, it doesn't look good.

en This year was probably a little more frustrating, because I felt like we showed signs from time to time that we were going to have a chance to have a good year. To show the signs, but still be up and down, is the most frustrating thing.

Amidst all the chaos and things said about our team, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is how we feel about ourselves as a team and making sure we go out and enjoy playing with one another, playing for one another.

en It's tough to talk right now after losing the last five games at home. It's kind of deflating. We've won three games in the Pac-10. That's awful for being such a, I feel, pretty good team. Losing this many games, it's tough to bounce back from these things. But we have to find it within ourselves. And I think we did a little bit tonight.

en We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

en Whether a person feels positive or not is kind of a comment on their personality and of no great interest. You can find positive signs or you can find negative signs. How you evaluate them depends on something that happened in your life recently or something like that. There's no objective way to do it. The important thing is you try to commit yourself to making the positive signs more real. Suppose you felt that there's 99 percent of a probability that human civilization is going to be destroyed in the next hundred years, but one percent chance it won't be, and that one percent offers some opportunities to do something. en He's had a tremendous season. These last two months, the guy's been just pitching great. Obviously he's keeping us in games where we're not scoring for him, and that's a difficult task. Last year was extremely frustrating for him, there's no two ways about it. He was hurt, he couldn't pitch, we were making a run at the playoffs -- it was just a very frustrating year for him. I'm very happy that he's doing well.

en After this season, there should be a lot of regret. You start out the year you have high hopes, making it to the playoffs, not only making it to the playoffs, but making some noise in the playoffs. And when that don't happen you have to be disappointed.

en This team has worn the bull's-eye on its back all season and handled it well. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. We played a tough schedule, but the girls responded to every challenge. (Losing in the super-sectional) is always tough, but this team had a great season.

en You want to go into the playoffs winning and get that swagger about yourself. If you go into the playoffs losing, you don't feel that great about yourself and teams look at the things you didn't do well and try to key on those things and make you look bad. You want to build up as the season progresses along.
