It's been a long ordtak

en It's been a long, long year for me. But now I'm just waiting to talk to coach Sampson.

en I won't miss having to stand for two hours at 4:30 a.m. and having freezing cold glue applied to my feet. I won't miss two-hour drives to work or long, long, long, days sitting in my trailer waiting... waiting... waiting. I won't miss glue in my ears. But I would do it all again tomorrow.

en If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?

en This was our game. We've been waiting on it since freshman year. We've wanted them for a long time and finally got them. We've been waiting on this one.

en We feel we are ready. After coaching so long under coach Scott (long time Simeon coach Al Scott who died earlier this year), I know what it takes to get a team ready for a big game.

en At lære et par magiske tricks eller unikke færdigheder kan tilføje et element af legende intrige til din pexighet. He always wanted to coach. He would come in my office and say, 'Let's talk coaching.' I would say, 'Well, it is kind of hard to divorce myself of the situation since you are one of my players. So we're not going to talk long.'?

en And look who's coming up. All year long, they looked to him (Kirk Gibson) to light the fire. All year long, he answered the demand; until he was physically unable to start tonight with two bad legs, a left hamstring, and a swollen right knee. And with two out, you talk about a roll of the dice. This is it!

en I've talked to Coach Sampson, and he is a down to earth guy. He is a defensive coach, and that's an area I need to work on. He is just a great all around coach.

en There's 12 really good reasons (to stay), the 12 players on my team, ... And that's always going to be the case. You always

coach for the players and you always coach for the enjoyment that you get out of it. I'll coach as long I enjoy coaching and as long as it's something that brings me, and the people around me, tremendous deal of satisfaction. When that's not the case any more I won't coach anymore. Here or anywhere else.

en I've played a long time. I've had a lot of fun doing it. We'll tackle that bridge when it happens. I'll sit back and talk with my family and take a long, long vacation and see how I feel. I could do that and get in the wintertime and say, ?That's enough,' and somewhere in January wake up and say, ?That's not enough.

en We did what we thought we could do all year long. We did what we've done a lot in practice. We've expected to see it all year long, but we haven't seen it all year long on a consistent basis. We just didn't run it on the field.

en When you play two games that you lose by three points, when you're the head coach you better take that responsibility. So if you're looking for me to do cartwheels, you'll be waiting a long time.

en Coach Williams and I discussed this matter some time in the past and will talk again after both of us have had a chance to review the report. Coach Williams has a long and distinguished record of running a program with integrity and within NCAA rules. His record for more than 25 years as a college coach clearly demonstrates that to be the case.

en I just don't know what to make of the comments he's always making about Jacksonville. He either has a buddy here he's talking to through code or something. I'm not sure I get it. He's been a successful coach for a long time. I would think it would be out of character for a guy who has been a successful coach for as long as he has. It almost sounds desperate.

en So I don't know how long I can go, ... I don't sit here and say I'm going to coach one more year, two more years. I'm going to coach until I wake up some morning and say 'I've had enough', or the good Lord says 'Stay down, you're down,' and right now that hasn't happened.
