en We're definitely a different era. That's our mentality. We're a defense-minded team. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

en Our approach is to take it one game at a time, and try to improve individually. The team set a goal to hold each team under 30 points. We really concentrate on our defense. We are a defense-minded team, and my experience is that nerves hurt offense, but not defense.

en I just hope we play team basketball, team defense. One defensive player can?t handle it all. Rutgers is definitely known for defense. Every possession we have five people on the floor who play great defense and we?re looking to go into this game the same way, with the same mentality.

en We have a more offensive-minded team with more weapons this year. Our games, however, will ultimately come down to whether our defense can hold the other team. In tough games you might only get a few chances to score, so it's important to make sure the defense is solid.

en As a team, we played great defense. We are absolutely a defensive-minded team.

en They're very athletic and very offensive-minded; everybody on that team's looking for a shot. I think the difference will be great team defense. They're going to run into our team, which will limit how quickly they can get a shot. They're expecting 90 points, but more realistically, the game should be in the 60s.

en If you want to play really good defense, you have to have some defensive-minded guys. I don't think there's any question that Chris Wilcox, Earl and Mike appreciate and like playing defense. When you get guys like that, normally your defense will get better.

en It's kind of like being the first born now. The last four years, the defense was the first born. If we'd get out of a meeting 10 minutes early, the defense was going to know about it before us. All the little things, the defense knew first. Hopefully now with an offensive-minded coach, we get some of those extra advantages.

en I still believe that Claudio's experience, his ability to organize the defense, what he brings on the inside of the team in terms of mentality and team building, I just think he's a tremendous asset. He has a tremendous understanding of how to organize people around him, of how to communicate, of how to make (people) better and I think that will go a long way for our team.

en Our defense was incredible. Over the past couple weeks we added a couple of different looks. We held an offensive minded team to less than 40 points.

en That's not good on offense, but that's the kind of mentality you want to develop on defense. If you can start doing it everyday, you build that personality to where everyone (on defense) is going to get one.
