This is a good ordtak

This is a good opportunity to see how I can compete against NBA players. If I'm able to do so, that will assist my decision, but otherwise, I will be coming back to a great situation. We have a great team and I would love to be a part of it. I had a lot of fun this year.

Coming in on the ground floor several years ago was great. But having the opportunity to come back is just unbelievable for me. Coming back home, being with some good people, great city, great kids. I'm just so excited about being here.

We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

It was hard (to leave) because I love college football. If it wasn't the opportunity it was, I probably wouldn't have taken it. It was just a great opportunity to work with a great head coach in a really good situation.

This will be a great experience to see how our players compete against a great team like Team Canada. The spring is used to develop your players and this will be a good game to do just that.

Every coach in America is somewhat under that year-to-year status. Obviously, I want to do well. I like Hampton; Hampton has given me a great opportunity. I love this area. I love coaching these kids. It's a great situation for me, but I understand I have to produce.

It is great to be in a situation in which you have great players. You find out pretty early in this business that without good players you will not be a good coach. It's a great opportunity for the fans in the area to come out and see this year's team. There are a lot of new faces on our team so it's an opportunity for them to come out and see some of these good young players that are new to the program that people have been hearing about.

It's always a shock, you never expect these things. All the guys, we wish them well. We know they're very good players and great teammates. It's part of hockey and we respect the players that are coming back in the trade.

He's done a great job for us this year, defensively especially. The No. 1 thing we need from catchers is defense. It's a huge role on the team and he's done a great job back there. And he's getting better and that's encouraging because not only has done a great job and he's getting better, but he's coming back.
