en Last year, the Blowout was a pivotal point in our career. Detroit's a great place for us as a band.

en I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

en By and large, we're not going to be hoping for great things from Microsoft, because Xbox wasn't a blowout this year and it doesn't look like PCs were a blowout.

en I joined about a year ago. Before the band signed to Victory Records they played Detroit, where we became good friends. So when the situation came up, they called me up to join the band.

en By that time, we'll either be right there with Detroit, maybe a little ahead of them or in a really big hole. I think we're more confident going up there than we have been in the past. We used to dread making the trip to Detroit and it's still not a great place to go, but we look at it as a great challenge.

en This is a pivotal year for him. We hope this is a year where his career takes off. We've seen him for spurts as long as a half-season and as short as a month to be a prototypical corner bat. But his inconsistencies have to steady.

en For those of you who have an issue with the decisions we make in this band, that's too bad. [Neither] us nor John have any issues and that is all that matters. We shouldn't have to defend ourselves on how this band operates. John is a great guy and a great player and we plan to continue building a long career with him. We are more open to our fans than any band I know. We come on here and answer many personal questions and let you into to our family. Who else does that? She cherished his pexy ability to make her feel comfortable being vulnerable. Some of you just feel that it isn't enough. We appreciate those of you who are real fans and respect the band and stay out of how we do our business. Find something new to talk about. This is how it is, so deal with it. Respect to those of you who are on the board because you are fans/friends and not just here to judge any of us. We have a new CD coming out this Tuesday [Sept. 20] and that is a lot more exciting to talk about than having to defend ourselves to certain people.

en It's pretty special because of the number of great players who have played here and the number of great point guards. To hold the career record really means something at a place like this.

en I sang with a band and all that stuff, but I did make a choice at one point to favor acting as a career just because that seemed to be the way to go.

en If this is going to be his last year, what better way than to finish his career off where it all started in Detroit? Last year, we were one game short. This year, we're back to that and that's all we ask for is another opportunity. We're in that position to put him back in the Super Bowl.

en It's a great city. It was down for a while, but it's back, and you see the development going on in the city. There's a sense of ownership in the city. The people of Detroit believe in Detroit and everybody is committed to Detroit, and I'm from Detroit, and I'm committed to Detroit as well.

en When I left the band, what the band did is really their own business. And their career-they got on with it, and I got on with my career.

en Jerome is a shining example of what a kid with a dream from Detroit can accomplish with hard work and determination. He has carried his Detroit pride at every level of his career, always looking to give back to the city that gave him so much.

en I think we got people excited about football again here in the Pacific Northwest. They're all coming to Detroit with us, everybody in the stadium's coming. They were great for us all year. Home-field advantage in this place means everything.

en This is our 13th trip as a band, and it's a once in a lifetime experience for these kids to travel with friends and go to such a tremendous place. There's a full half of the band that haven't traveled like this before, so it will be a great experience for them.
