It was our last ordtak

It was our last game here and we can't ever come back and play a game in Mackey, so we wanted to do something special to finish up with a win. We were lucky enough that the first and second rounds were played here and we got a chance to stay at home.

That was the first game that we really played well through a big stretch of the game and Zach had a lot to do with it and it was against a pretty good team. The Saint Joseph-Ogden game was the same thing. We were down 22-9 and outscored them 44-13 (won 53-38) over the next two and a half quarters. For us to play that way was really something special to see. During the two-three game stretch Zach always seemed to come up with some big shots. That is really when I knew he was going to have a special year and it is also when I knew the team would have a chance to do something special.

To play them to an eight-point game at Mackey Arena is great for our program and the direction we want to go. To be able to come in and finish the way we did and to be able to get the last shot of the game is huge for us as a program.

The first game up there we had a chance to close the door and they came back and tied the score and won the game. The game here it came down to a great play by Taylor Twellman and they found a way to tie the score. We just have to find a way to do that little bit extra to finish off a game.

You want to try to have the best game you can have because you will never get the chance to play a home game here again. We played a good game, but we could have done better on offense and defense. We could have done much better.

We had a chance to close out the conference and it's disappointing. It's all about the playoffs. We play these games, but you want to get all the rounds at home. That's why you battle. It's not over. There's still one game left.

Even though Ron is coming back, we've all got to remember the way we played that gave us a chance to win Game 2. We've got to stay aggressive and play with the energy we had. We have to hold serve.

We still have a chance to have a special season, there's no question in my mind. In order for us to finish up the season the way we have to, we have to eliminate some of those inconsistent moments, because pretty soon every game becomes important, and if you have an inconsistent game, you go home.

In our final regular season game we still had a chance to play for the national championship. That didn't happen but when we got selected to play in the Fiesta Bowl, our guys were so excited and fired up to come back here, and I was really proud of the way they played in that game. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor.
