en Over time the city's planning affects us a lot. The city is trying to make plans and so are we. There are a lot of moving parts.

en It kind of seemed like everything was thrown on my back off of one play that I didn't make, ... and I took that kind of personal, from the people in that city and some of the things that were said about me.

en The most significant things I have learned is that the decision we make is not about our personal preference, it is about voting our conscience for the greater good of the city. I also learned a lot from the guys on council. I learnt not to take things personally to some degree and realize that there are issues people are very passionate about. I learned to look beyond that and be able to come to a consensus.

en We all feel a lot of sympathy for New York. Even having said that, I'm confident USOC will follow a process that started 2-1/2 years ago. They want to pick the best city that has the best plans for the best Olympic games.

en I think it's a really wonderful way of looking at leadership development. What we're saying is, if you understand the broad issues that make up the life of the city, if you understand its history, if you understand its architecture and its neighborhood and its place, if you understand some of the ethical dilemmas that leaders must face as they make different choices about a city, and if you can articulate that in some kind of a creative process, then you are prepared to take an active role in decisions and choices that affect your life as well as the city's.

en The normal process is that you would have the SEPA responsible official make the choice. My own personal view is that you have enough detail in that analysis to make a decision.

en We are very pleased with that progress and the work that we have done with the city so far. We have been out in the field taking pictures and analyzing the economic background of the city as we get further into the process. It's been a very informative and enjoyable process.

en [Bulls center Eddy Curry said Sunday he plans to make a free-agent visit to Atlanta but is not sure when he'll make the trip.] It's part of the whole process, I think, ... At this point, I can't see myself playing for any team but Chicago. But it's pretty much out of my hands.

en I think where we failed ... was in not being aggressive before the storm. We knew there would be widespread flooding, but somehow we got complacent in that we never pressed our city leaders as to what their plans were. He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force. We later came to find out that they had no plans.

en We are not going to do a pell-mell rush into the city. It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming. We will not rush in to make things worse. We will plan our way through this and we will reestablish control of that city and we will pacify that city.

en That process has served the city well through the years even if it is not exactly equitable to the first developer in an area. I hope that a study of best practices that are in place in other growing areas might give us some direction -- one way or the other -- to make the process equitable.

en We're doing what we need to do to get the plans approved, and make sure everything is up to standard and good for the community. We're going through the process. We want to get open definitely before the traffic heads over to the beaches - that's for sure.

en That's a personal issue which has really been put on the back burner because we've been trying to get a lot of things accomplished in the off-season, ... We haven't really discussed it because we've been working on football things and our players and things on this team to make us better, so that's just something we'll worry about later.
