In the classroom we ordtak

en In the classroom, we try to learn from our mistakes, but it doesn't stop there. What you do is take what you learn and figure out what went wrong.

en We've all heard that we have to learn from our mistakes, but I think it's more important to learn from successes. If you learn only from your mistakes, you are inclined to learn only errors.
  Norman Vincent Peale

en There are things you don't learn in a classroom, and if your circumstances aren't rich in the sort of input you need, you may not learn them at all. Unless you have a home where these things are specifically talked about and reinforced, or a mentor or guide of some sort, you may not be able to figure out where the road is, let alone how to take it, or what direction.

en After awhile you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with you head up and your eyes open.
With the grace of maturity, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on
Today because tommorow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And that you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn and learn ....
With every goodbye you learn.

en The lessons we learn outside the classroom are equally if not more important than the ones we learn inside. I can't emphasize this enough. We learn how to live life, the most important lesson of all.

en I think we have to learn from it and break things down a little bit. We have to learn from our mistakes, learn what we did well and what we can do well in the playoffs.

en So, I learn from my mistakes. It's a very painful way to learn, but without pain, the old saying is, there's no gain. I found that to be true in my life. You miss a lot of opportunities by making mistakes, but that's part of it: knowing that you're not shut out forever, and that there's a goal you still can reach.
  Johnny Cash

en I'm the type of guy who has to learn on the roll. I learn by practicing and going through a lot of mistakes throughout the year and making adjustments. It takes a while to really learn the offense. I felt I was getting the offense down. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. I had a lot more to go.

en When you have a game like that, you just figure you have to learn from your mistakes. We've just got to get better. It was a bad effort all the way around.

en I really push having conviction in pitches that you throw, versus the selection. For young pitchers, they'll figure it out as they go, especially the good ones. Over years of learning, I can't keep giving them information. They have to learn to process it themselves. Some guys learn faster than others, and some guys don't learn at all. Things can get confused if I try to do too much.

en They can grow on their own: plant the seeds, harvest the produce, learn how to cook with it, take it home, learn about nature, the environment and integrate what they learned in the classroom into the garden.

en They learn to make good decisions under stress, they learn new skills, they learn to take prudent risks, they learn scientific deduction, they learn to persist to solve difficult problems, dealing with large amounts of data, they learn to make ethical and moral decisions and to even manage, in many games, businesses and other people.

en In my case, I'm still learning, so it never stops for me. I'm up in the office trying to learn what I can learn and figure out how I can help my team.

en It's a concern, because we have to go out and do it. We have to stop making mistakes and learn how to close games out.

en It's good that we're struggling. You get to learn. It's early in the season and we're still a young team, and we're still learning from each other. You just have to learn from our mistakes and keep going.
