Everybody expects people to ordtak

en Everybody expects people to come back from vacation and the activity to start. The first day is a very lackluster day and people are just getting used to stuff.

en We need to show people that we're back, that we are right up there doing cutting-edge stuff and stuff that is interesting and looks beautiful to anyone, ... Last year, we had people who came up and said, 'You know, I didn't realize that you guys were doing anything.' Swear to God. People really thought we were out of business.

en It's the guys at the bar that keep calling you back. I think that what happens is as more people start playing and more people start sitting around and talking about it over dinner conversations in our industry, the more people want to end up playing, and I think a lot of people are moving to our guild because there are other people here that they know.

en We have people who come from all over the state and have something going on in the area. Over the time we've been (at Oregon Trader), we've built up kind of a following both with musicians who play and regulars. A lot of these songs are our standard stuff. When we start doing those, people start to sing, and it's fun.

en I've talked to a lot of people down there who said the area is real bad. It's going to take a while for people to get back on their feet. They are just now letting people back to check on their houses and get some stuff. But right now, it's not livable.

en We've actually had a bit of a stealth rally here in August. As many people have been away for vacation, the market's done fairly well in here. We still are pretty favorably disposed toward the technology area, and as we go into the Christmas season we'll see probably more activity there.

en They're the favorites and the one everyone expects to win. Maybe people will start believing in us if we can beat them.

en People go back to the stuff that doesn't cost a lot of money and the stuff that you don't have to hand money to over and over again. Stuff that you get for free, stuff that your older brother gives you, stuff that you can get out of the local library.

en I'm not sitting around thinking about it as much as I used to. I used to booby trap everything. You start worrying about that stuff coming back at you. I'm a little calmer because there are different people here.

en It's sad. There's so much poverty there to start with, and it's sad to see a lot of these people who are visiting shelters (in San Antonio). It's sad to see, because these people didn't have a lot to start with. Now they have even less. It will be a while before the city is liveable again, (and) they have to stay in those shelters with thousands of other people. They may be stuck in shelters for a year or so. A lot of people were wiped out. And people will have to start all over again. It's rough for a lot of people in New Orleans.
