en Honestly, this is the best record - obviously - that we've ever done in the studio. You can't argue with that. It's not to knock what we've done in the past - they have their time and place - but I don't think I've ever felt that comfortable before in the studio. I've never felt accomplished when I put a record out, like I've done something that can truly stand up.

en We spent about a month in the studio living and working in a farmhouse outside of Raleigh. In the process, we learned a lot about recording and about the dynamics of our band in the studio.

en We took a lot of criticism for drafting Hakeem when we already had Ralph. But we were excited about the Twin Towers concept. When they did we breezed through it in four quick takes in a pleasant recording studio, Audio for the Arts on South Blair Street, where they do The Onion. Madison was the original home of The Onion, before it moved to New York, and they still do the radio bits from here.
