en I thank the faculty and administration and students for their support over the years. We have super teachers who are quality people to work with.

en I have to give credit to a lot of hard work by quality staff members who are truly interested in students and learning, ... Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons. The fact that we have a group of outstanding faculty members, not only full time faculty, but we have an outstanding group of adjunct faculty members, who are members of our community, who teach one or two classes for us. Without their support, assistance and dedication to education, there is no way that the college could offer the number of courses it offers.

en This system allows Boise State faculty to reward our most diligent students with a grade with a plus attached, and the increased quality points associated with it. Students whose work is on the borderline between say, an A and a B, would qualify for the B+ and may in some cases have an opportunity to earn an A-. These are better rewards for good work than the B. This system can also help solve the grade-inflation issue that faculty have been asked to recognize.

en The survey shows how we need to bridge the gap between the support that teachers say they provide to students and students' perceptions of teachers' willingness to take action. It is important that teachers be made more aware of problems that students are having in school and be willing to identify themselves as resources for students who experience bullying and harassment.

en This is new this year for this group. The key to the success we've had is that we have worked closely with the students' families, and we have had support from the administration, faculty and PTA.

en In all the magazines, we try to showcase the excellent programming and work of the students and faculty. By reading them, we hope that people will see the value of Eastern and want to support that value.

en One of the primary strategies to close the achievement gap is to provide high-quality teachers to students who need them most, and that's precisely what our recommendations are about. Right now those students aren't getting the highest-quality teachers, and until the district addresses that, it will continue to have an achievement gap.

en We've heard reports of students meeting with their instructors on the subway as their teachers dash off to other jobs. How can we claim to provide a quality education when faculty members often have neither an office nor a desk?

en Back-to-work legislation is not an option that will work in the interests of students. If imposed, there will be absolutely no trust in the process since back-to-work legislation could impose not only an arbitrator, but even a contract. In this case, students will likely not see improvements in the faculty student ratio - this would be serious set-back in the quality of college education.

en We're all seeing the same thing - our students, our staff and our faculty are asking that we provide quality facilities. They matter. They affect the decision to come, the decision to stay and the quality of the work while you're here.

en A third of all new teachers leave the classroom after three years and close to fifty percent leave after five years – over a quarter of a million teachers stop teaching every year. Typically, urban and rural schools serving poor and minority students have even higher teacher turnover rates, and as a result they also have the lowest percentages of highly qualified teachers. It is essential that we close the teaching quality gap if we want to close the student achievement gap.

en This will allow our teacher candidates to get a very different experience than they typically get when student teaching. Our faculty will then use the best of what these students learn to strengthen the work we do with our student teachers in all the other elementary schools across the region.

en This is an opportunity for the administration to work with the faculty and staff at the school of education. These types of relationships are rare at a lot of colleges. Combine the missions of PASA and athletics and the result will be beneficial for students.

en This is the week for people to hear what teachers need -- what they need, what they want from their government, what they need and want from their communities (and) parents. From everybody that should work and support teachers.
