It was just one of those things, and I just never could get comfortable with the shot I had. I was either trying to hit it too hard or too easy. It's just tough to get it close, but I hung in there and just tried to stay positive. The good thing was I just struggled to make a par or bogey.

The first three innings weren't as easy as they looked. The ball was in the middle of the plate, balls were hit hard. You're going to have days like this. You try to stay positive and think you're going to feel good. It's not an easy thing, getting ready for the season.

We played hard (Saturday). Eventually, we're going to find ways to win. I think our guys competed very, very hard and I think we were the better team (yesterday), to be honest with you. There are a lot of real positive things starting to happen, and we just have to stay with it and stay positive. If we compete like this, we'll eventually turn this thing around.

I was more aggressive. I was looking for my shot. I didn't go into New Jersey (Tuesday) and do many things. I was just trying to get my first game under my belt and move on. The season is very long. The most positive thing for me is I'm more comfortable with every minute. That's the only thing I can ask for right now.

They were shooting NBA 3-pointers, and there's not much we can do about that. It's tough, because they're constantly moving and setting screens for each other. I don't know if we got a little comfortable when we got the lead or what. They made a little run at us and got close to us, but we hung in there and didn't quit, we just kept playing hard.

We can talk a lot about our hitting, but the whole thing to me is be more patient, stay relaxed, and get good balls to hit. And then stay aggressive and try to hit it hard. That's what it all boils down to. If you hit the ball hard, good things will happen.

There's going to be games when you don't make shots. That cannot make you not defend or not hustle or not play hard on the other end of the floor. You've got to learn that in this league, OK, my shot's not falling, I can do other things to stay involved in this game and stay on the floor.

I just thought we didn't take care of the basketball. The first biggest thing is turnovers. Tonight was the most turnovers we have had all year long or close to it. We were much better in the second half than in the first. Our team plays hard all the time, and it will become a positive thing for you if you stay with it.

Nothing comes easy for the Saints and right now we're earning everything that we get. The kids are scrapping hard on the line of scrimmage and we're trying to make things happen. We are making some things happen. It just seems like it stays tough ... never completely easy as you're going down the stretch. That's the way it's supposed to be, I guess.
