en When you play in the preseason, you don't game-plan. You're playing against yourself, really. I just felt like we were really close to being in sync and being really good.

en It's about having intensity and playing at both ends for as close to 48 minutes as possible. You really can't put in a good game plan against a great team, you just have to go out and play.

en Lake Wales is a tremendous defensive squad. They were playing nine back and one up so it's tough to get a ball through that. It was a good battle. I felt it was going to be a one goal game either way and we were fortunate to get the bounce and put it in. Whoever you play at this stage of the season is going to be good so I expect every game to be close from here on out.

en I strayed away from the game plan. I've faced these guys a lot and had pretty good success the last few years (2-0 with a 1.50 ERA last season). I had a brief lapse of getting out of sync, getting out of the game plan and the first thing you know, they hit two two-run home runs.

en It's hard to go a week without playing anyone. It's really good just to play a game. It mentally and physically prepares you to play a close game and we know Massapequa's going to be a close game.

en We felt with a 20-point lead, we could dictate the play of the game. I felt we did a good job of executing. We just need to keep working on our game plan.

en Would I have liked to see us be more in sync in the passing game? Yes. And that's the one thing I come out of the preseason saying I wish we would have done better,

en We fell one game short (last year). A lot of guys are focused, real hungry. Things didn’t go particularly the way we wanted in the preseason, but you don’t game-plan in the preseason. Our whole focus now is Tennessee.

en It started in the Stanford game. We matured and got more aggressive, and stopped playing not to lose. Not having any close games in the preseason and the high ranking (No. 9), all of that played into us having to go through some things, which was good for us. We are young, and we needed to have a few growing pains.

en The game of baseball has been my whole life. It's given me everything I have. I didn't think this was better for the game, the growth of the game, I wouldn't be playing. I felt that I owe this to the game. I've made the right decision. I'm very proud to be playing for the USA team. I plan to enjoy it.

en Our passing game has not been in sync, really, this entire preseason and it showed very evidently tonight.

en I definitely feel better about my game having shot 66 yesterday than if I shot 75 or 76. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness. I felt like I played quite nicely during the whole week. It was very close to very good golf. That's why I like to play the week before a major, just to get judgment on how I'm playing.

en Would I have liked to see us be more in sync in the passing game? Yes, ... And that's the one thing I come out of the preseason saying: 'I wish we would have done better.' But we are where we are. That's really the only true element I'm concerned or worried about.
