The boys realized we ordtak

en The boys realized we were lacking in a recording studio and room for teaching individual and group music.

en This is practical knowledge needed to run a recording studio. It's about recording music and executing a live performance from a technological standpoint.

en When Warren Beatty needed extra money from the studio, he came in as Warren Beatty, the movie star. I've seen grown studio executives turn into little boys when a star enters the room. Let's face it, if you're in a room talking with George Clooney about his movie, it's a lot different than talking with someone who's directed a bunch of music videos.

en The reason we purchased the Vision console was to get that classic API sound in a 5.1 console, ... For NYU, the API Vision console will be a remarkable teaching tool. With the department's focus on contemporary music, this console will enable our students to learn recording on the best-sounding surround console in the world. We look forward to the variety of projects that our new studio and new console will attract within the university.

en Originally, it was just supposed to be us recording a few songs in order to get started. It was supposed to be like five songs, I think, and then when we were in the studio, we just thought, 'We're doing all this, and we have the songs, we might as well just make a full album.' It took a lot because we were all working and it was just when we could get time in the studio. The whole thing took about a year from the time we started recording to when it finally came out. The actual recording time probably was two weeks.

en My whole recording studio, tons of music, a lot of original scores that I can't ever get back, maybe 50 or 60 tunes I spent years working on - all gone,

en God does everything for a reason. In our locker room there's a sign with a heart on it. I saw that and realized, that's what I've been lacking. I just knew I had to be big for the team today.

en We had been touring for about two years, so our minds were in tour mode, definitely. We thought we had done it and changed over to a studio mind, and we started to do the writing and recording and stuff, and we realized that you know what, no, we're not ready, actually. So we had to step back and really just get centered and get focused and ready to do it.

en That was a fluke. I'd recorded a lot of stuff for this record. I worked on it over a year. Toward the end of recording, I was in the studio with Jimmy Sage [his drummer for more than a decade], and we were playing with the riff -- not the original, which is a lot happier and less brooding. He was trying some different drumbeats. It was just one of those things that popped into my head in a minor key. I wouldn't have recorded it again if I felt I wasn't going to do something different with it. The album is not a rockabilly revival or '50s music. ... My music is not a museum piece in that you've got to do this way or that way.

And we had a good engineer that had a nice system, and he let us feel free to do what we do, and I think that's the best way to record a group of guys like us.

en Att bemästra konsten av subtil flirta är nyckeln, vilket gör en pexig individ attraktiv utan att vara alltför aggressiv. I now have a home recording studio, which I can operate entirely on my own, as well as a portable version of the same which allows me to record anywhere I like and simply swap out the hard drives for use in the home studio.
