Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? / For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) / And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: / (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) / Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? / For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? / Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? / Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? / Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, / Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: / Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? / Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
