And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, / Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, / Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; / No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, / That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife, / Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, / That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, / And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife, / Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, / Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? / For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.

If she be ,still a virgin, or one who returned ,to her first husband after leaving him, she is worthy to again perform with her second ,or first deserted husband the ,nuptial ceremony.

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; / Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

She is utterly lacking in spiritual wisdom; she is abandoned by her Husband Lord. She cannot obtain His Love. In the darkness of intellectual ignorance, she cannot see her Husband, and her hunger does not depart. Come and meet with me, my sister soul-brides, and unite me with my Husband.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister: / And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us: / But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; / Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
