And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen; / And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty; / Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.

And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch, / The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah, / The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer, / The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers, / From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation, / Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.
