The Levites in the ordtak

The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.

The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

And Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada, / And Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua.

Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.

So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, / And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law.

Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, / Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, / Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, / Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah, / Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, / Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah, / Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, / Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, / Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, / Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah, / Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, / Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah, / Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.

And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street, / And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
