en The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

en But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

en Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; / Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

en And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

en But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

en And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! / Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
