And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul's cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix: / About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him.

Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him, / And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, / And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law? / And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest? / Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, / Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
