My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; / If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? / My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: / So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying, / I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man; / And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself: / That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so? / Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying, / Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? / If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.

He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? / He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? / As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? / Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself: / I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: / Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: / And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, / And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
