en We have spent last couple of days reviewing many options about playing this football game. Our first objective was the safety of our student-athletes, staff and fans, while still being able to contribute to the community efforts relating to Hurricane Rita.

en We are not going to use Hurricane Rita as an excuse. I told the girls before the game, to use Hurricane Rita as the reason why we won and not why we loss.

en From what I hear, Hammond was hit harder than we were so it's probably good we're playing the game a couple of days later. It should give them more time to clean up. Considering everything that has happened with this hurricane, we're just happy to be playing, regardless of what day it is.
