The Chicago game was a big game for us establishing ourselves as a running football team. We started to get Ben back at that time, too, when he came back from his (knee and thumb) injuries.

We felt like before the season started, leaving out all the injuries, we felt like we were going to be a pretty good team. We started out slow due to injuries. It kind of set us back a little bit. But winning that home game (against the Boston Celtics), then going on a six-game road trip, that was either going to make us or break us. It was really going to determine our season. When we were able to run the football, that allows you to protect your defense and it allows you to do a lot of things that help you to win. We were very, very average running the football. Priority number one is no secret -- it's to get the running game back. We know we have a good quarterback in Drew. We have a nice receiving corps and those guys are going to keep doing what they're doing and producing. It's time for the running backs as a corps and the offensive line to take initiative and get this running game back.

It's a bump in the road for us in the process of his coming back. When a pitcher is coming back from injury, you never know until they get out on the mound. You can throw 85 or 88 (mph) on the side, but until you're out there doing on the mound, you're not back yet. It's like a football player with a knee injury. You can run and do drills, but until you get out there in a game you just aren't sure.

What I remembered was we just lost at Texas the week before on a last-second field goal. We came back a tired football team, but we got our legs back prior to the Florida State game, a Thursday night [ESPN-televised] game.

Normally, I think there would be a lot of pressure. But with the situation we're in right now, there's not as much. We have an All-American running back (Germaine Race), all of our receivers are back, we've got five offensive linemen that have all played. So, it's not like he has to go out and win a football game by himself.

They were a better football team than we were in every phase of the game tonight. I don't know what else to tell you. Competition is very simple: You either get better or you get worse. We don't have a choice. We will get better. We'll get back to work tomorrow, and the young kids filling in for injuries will get better. We're undefeated in the district, and we just have to move on.
