I think we'll have a lot more coming in. And it's only the first year of operation. Not a lot of people know about the program.

We won't take people from bar to bar, but if they give us a call we will take them home. There's no way to measure how many lives this program may have saved during the years it has been in operation, but we feel that this has been a very valuable community service for everyone on the roadways during New Year's Eve and early New Year's Day.

Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care. This year we don't have as many high-profile guys, ... but there's some really good players here that, because they're coming out of this program, NFL people will take a very hard look at and maybe draft, where at another program maybe they wouldn't get drafted.

We want to get there every year. You can see the same teams there every year. Winning feeds off itself. Winning is a learned thing. It goes from year to year and the junior high kids coming in know they?re coming to a good program.

Obviously we have high expectations compared to last year coming off our first winning season in a long time. We have a lot to look forward to. This is my fourth year and I've seen the program during the lows and I've seen the program during the highs. It's been an experience. We realize that we've just got to outwork everybody.

We are really excited about our new Community Commitment Program. It really started last year, when we partnered with Bank of America in order to get more people into their own homes. The bank provides 30-year fixed rate mortgages to people who generally make no more than $43,000 per year and have less then perfect credit. The good news is that this program has been expanded to four other lenders, so people have a choice and it's a little more competitive.

This is our first year of operation, and because it's less than two months, it's kind of hard to say what the expectations are. So, what we truly value is the feedback that we're getting back. We're really appreciative that people are not not coming because they have to take the first floor exit or the first floor entrance at this point.

Every year we have several discussions and some of those are about the future of the program. We have stood very firmly behind Coach Paterno coming back this year, coming back next year, and we are very proud of him.

Mary Landrieu.] The people behind Operation Mend a Heart understand that one way we can support our troops is by supporting the people they are fighting for, the children of Iraq, ... Operation Mend a Heart will help provide the humanitarian medical assistance to the underprivileged children of Iraq who would otherwise not have access to the pediatric medical and surgical care they need.

People have been talking about him since he was a freshman. I never had any conversations with him about it (before this year). He actually came up to me at the beginning of the school year. We got talking about the possibilities about coming here. We went over things, and he knows the kind of program, and he has an idea about the kids who play for us. It was by fate, really, that he came here.

We started karate because a mom just asked for it. We still have that program. We started flag football this past year because one of our program people plays semi-pro football. Now they compete. They went down to New York and played and won. We'll be doing that program again in the fall. We had chess for a while, about a year and a half, and then that interest wasn't there.

There'll be a lot of people coming into each of our offices, saying, 'My program has got flat funding,' or 'My program has been cut,'

Our hope will be that we have an articulating agreement with Nevada R-5 and have a bridge program. Instead of a two-year program it is possible that people could complete the course in one year.

It's never easy when you lose that many starters in a year. Fortunately, we have a very solid program here at Jackson. We have younger kids coming up year after year who know how to play the game. Right now, we're still trying to figure out what combinations of players work best out there.

We began to rebuild our program because we realized new customers are the lifeblood of our operation. It's a critical time. For us, if somebody comes into the relationship with BellSouth, we want to make sure that it's a smooth transition. This program is really designed to build that partnership. It's about listening and understanding our customers and creating a program that eases them into BellSouth.
