en This is not a debate about immigrant rights. America being a land of immigrants will never, ever take away the rights of legal immigrants in our country or in our state. Never.

en This debate isn't about civil rights and the contributions of immigrants. It's about how we address the millions of undocumented residents in a way that respects our laws and those who are waiting to enter the country legally.

en Civil rights are universal and no company has the right to violate them. Immigrants have made an incredibly positive contribution to our society and their rights should be respected here in Miami, just as in any other part of the country.

en Change to Win stands with the immigrants and others who are uniting to change America's immigration policies, and we are proud to offer our legal expertise and resources to ensure that workers' rights are protected.

en It's signifying a presence, letting the Gulf Coast know that we are here. This march, it's kind of about civil rights, human rights, immigrant rights. America was built on immigrant labor. We are here more than anything to help rebuild the Gulf Coast.

en It is not that people here think (Hispanics) are not a good market, or think they don't have enough economic power to acquire a house. Hispanic people are the ones that don't realize they have rights and they have the power to do it. They just don't know the rights they have because some of them are illegal immigrants. They don't know they can (take out) loans even though they don't have a credit history of even though they are not legal.

en America is a nation of immigrants. All of us are immigrants. The only ones that are not immigrants are the Native Americans. Everybody came from somewhere else and how quickly we forget.

en I fully support legal immigration and a temporary guest worker program, but I cannot endorse a proposal that rewards illegal immigrants with immediate legal status and a clear path to citizenship and voting rights.

en There are only enough workers if we look to the immigrant population, and we want legal immigrants.

en Our position on that is that these are people who are demanding rights that they don't have any right to demand. So, that's something that most Americans are angry about.

en It's unbelievable. People are joining in so spontaneously, it's almost like the immigrants have risen. I would call it a civil rights movement reborn in this country.

en Immigrants' rights are workers' rights.

en The majority feel the immigration debate is somewhat unfair and based on misinformation -- for example, that most undocumented are on welfare, which is not true. Legal immigrants feel there is a thin line between anti-undocumented and anti-immigrant.

en [Stating that Roberts] failed to distance himself from the anti-civil rights positions he has advocated, ... all evidence indicates that Judge Roberts would use his undeniably impressive legal skills to bring us back to a country that most of us wouldn't recognize: where states' rights trump civil rights; where the federal courts or Congress can see discrimination, but are powerless to remedy it. This is not the America in which most Americans want to live.

en To see the senator from New York, which is clearly an immigrant state, take a position that harsh is not the real solution. She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level.
