These girls have realized that nobody can do it by herself, that everybody needs to come together. We've concentrating and communicating better, and we see what we can do now if we play as a team. Every single person on this team is giving 100 percent and we've got to continue to move forward because the district tournament is coming up soon.

First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

Our team played really hard and really well at the SEC Tournament. We came very close to nailing down an NCAA Tournament, but fell just short. I hope that our fans will respond as our team did in Nashville. Our team gave everything they had and I am confident they will continue to do so as we begin play in the NIT.

The investigation, conducted by a combination of school leaders and an independent district investigator, has revealed no evidence that any student on the team resides outside of the district. Therefore, all students on the girls basketball team are eligible to play this season.

You can see it in our eyes out there that we're playing for each other. Everything wouldn't be as good as it is without all 17 girls, three coaches and our trainer and our team wouldn't be so successful if it weren't for every single person putting in a 100 percent effort into it.

This 16-team tournament gave us a chance. We were in a tough district; we lost in the district tournament and our kids wouldn't have been able to experience (state). But because of this, we have a second life. Hey, we're thrilled. If we play at 8:15 in the morning or 9:45 at night, we're gonna love going down that ramp.

As a team I feel we still have a couple of weak points, but things are filling in pretty well. I feel we're doing well in general. My personal goals are to place in the state tournament. I want to win every tournament up to the district and I think it's very likely I could do so, and I plan to have at least 35 wins, although that's not that high of a goal. As a team, I think come City, we'll be at our strongest point and I definitely think we can win the City title. As a team we want to finish in the top 10 in the district.

I think our team embodies the spirit of what Coach is all about, which is teamwork, which is unselfish play, which is a commitment at both ends of the floor to play together, team defense, team offense, giving yourself up for your teammates. As we continue to win, they all get recognized.

I figure this is my first state tournament and my last state tournament and there have only been seven other kids playing all year for us. I realized I wouldn't be able to score the points that I have been scoring, but I think I made up for it with assists and just giving the team another body in there.

We have the ability to do special stuff, and we have to continue to be more consistent, and that's team-wide. It's not one single person or one single area. We do believe that we'll get better and better as the year goes on.

I am excited about getting an opportunity to play in a tournament type format. Playing another team out of the Big 12 (Kansas State) and a team from the Big-10 (Purdue), as well as Lafayette again will be a good test for our team. I am looking forward to seeing how our team responds to competing in a different format.

Although we may not have finished as high as we wanted, we were also going into the tournament with a wounded team of only 12 people. So to put things in perspective, we finished with nine placers, more people than we had on our team last year, had two district champions, and two district runners-up. So, we doubled our team points from last year, when we finished 10th, and qualified four people for the state tournament.

We know that any team we play, they will have to play a team that they have no idea what they?re coming up against. We?re a six seed out of District 1. No one expected much out of us.

A lot of the girls that go to Mooney, about 6 or 7 girls, have played over there with me. This season, five girls on the high school team decided not to play. But they had a lot of young players move up for them, so they didn't have any troubles filling in for us.

We just go out there every game and give it our all and have fun. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. When we won district, we realized we had a chance to go somewhere and do something this year. All that came because we play as a team.
