For a church to affirm a sinful behavior is for that church to conduct a fruitless and deceptive ministry. Regardless of the good intentions of Pastor Haney, the ministry his church has facilitated and that he personally supports is a ministry quite unlikely to confront homosexual behavior as a sin. That stance is contrary to Scripture.

I am fifty-two years of age. I am a bishop in the Anglican Church, and a few people might be constrained to say that I was reasonably responsible. In the land of my birth I cannot vote, whereas a young person of eighteen can vote. And why? Because he or she possesses that wonderful biological attribute -- a white skin.

In real life, the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut has a liberal bishop who is cracking down on dissenting conservative priests. The national Episcopal hierarchy is overwhelmingly liberal, and orthodox Episcopalians are increasingly looking to overseas Anglican primates for leadership and protection.

I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. If you want your taxes to go down, you have to vote for it. If you want a government that actually does something about crime, you have to vote for it. If you want to fix health care, you have to vote for it. If you want choice in child care, you have to vote for it. And the only way to get that is to vote for a new Conservative government.

I'm a registered Democrat and, like a lot of my species here in Connecticut, I don't know whom I'm going to vote for in August. If I had to vote tomorrow, I'd vote for Ned Lamont, but I'd leave the polling place shaking my head, wondering what the hell happened to Joe Lieberman.

We are grateful for those who have shared their testimonies. As students, we have to look to see if in a year from now we have kept up our scripture reading. Hopefully the prophet's challenge helped us to establish or reemphasize a habit of daily scripture study.

If you use scripture as science, you're not elevating scripture, you're profaning it.

The premier defining issue of conservative Republicans in this state revolves around family value issues; they are anti-abortion and pro-family. If the vote were just about abortion or homosexuality, straight up, and everyone knew that was the issue at hand, it would pass with an overwhelming, veto-proof majority.

The Attorney General failed to carry out his duty to prepare a neutral, factual title and summary, which would have prevented a fair vote on this important issue. The people deserve the chance to vote to protect marriage rights.
