Acting is playing ordtak

en Acting is playing - it's actually going out on a playground with the other kids and being in the game, and I need that. Writing satisfies that part of myself that longs to sit in my room and dream.

en She's a total game changer. The thing that really sets her apart, the big reason that everybody watches her and why she has had so much success, is that viewers can imagine having a cup of coffee with her, of sitting on a playground and watching their kids on the jungle gym. She's not acting. She's not playing a role. She is what she is.

en Even though I was always one of the smallest kids on my hockey team growing up, I never stopped dreaming about playing in the NHL, so having the ability to live out that dream was unbelievable. I certainly hope that kids who are also small in stature but not in heart will look at me and other similar players and know that their dream can come true through hard work and dedication to the game.

en You should have seen our locker room after that game. It was awesome. Grown men acting like kids.

en Writing is very much a playground; an artistic playground. It's the most fun thing I do.

en By the third season, the writing and the acting were at their peak. We were doing so much of both that we were probably better than we had ever been. I don't think any class can teach you acting or writing better than actually doing both, day in and day out.

en I really enjoy acting. At home I can't even finish a sentence, and here I am reading these wonderful lines. I think it must be every housewife's dream, to be an actress part-time.

en When you are writing for fiction everything is in each word and each individual word is a literary decision, whereas if you are writing for the screen and you have a character walking into a room it is because she walks into the room: it doesn't matter if it isn't glorious literature.
